Hello ma friends!
Lots of things to do. Outside spring is trying to make a mark and so are we, by putting aside the old winter coat. Anyway- hope you are all doing well. Ok! today we will take a look at an awesome collaboration between two of the biggest names on the market. Many are saying what we all think about- this is a unexpected hook-up, after all here we have a modern view with a timeless but cool old one.
Let’s see what we’ve got here :
So, we all know the iconic brand Adidas- seems like the legendary company teamed up with the one and only Alexander Wang. The result? A cool urban trash meets the suburbs kinda vibe. Cool, edgy and chill in the same time.
Its was during the S/S 2017 fashion weekend that the designer Alexander Wang did the fashion equivalent of the surprise album drop by unveiling an 84-piece collaboration with Adidas Original, including clothing and sneakers, all of it unisex. Wang playfully reimagines the brand’s iconic logo on T-shirts, hoodies, and tracksuits, and adds a bit of cool-kid magic to the already hot footwear. Here are images from the look book, shot by Juergen Teller and notably featuring Rocco Ritchie (ie Madonna’s 16-year-old son). But first of all let’s see what Wang has to say!
Adidas by Alexander Wang
– Everything about the collection, from its design to the way it is communicated, stems from the idea of flipping conventions about brands on their head. I felt that the most interesting and disruptive approach to the collaboration was to incorporate the heritage of an iconic brand like adidas while overturning commonly accepted rules and traditions of iconography and branding.-
-In today’s highly saturated marketplace, anything that is original, that generates excitement, that breaks from the norm is really necessary in order to stand out. And I love coming up with ideas and concepts that challenge convention with integrity-.
