This week the Cool Dude section is dedicated to the one and only Brad Pitt! A true fashion icon for us men.
As we all know, Pitt’s fashion style is kinda personal, in perfect alignment with his personality. Sometimes rugged, sometimes classy, one thing is certain: he likes to play it simple but significant.
While he’s come a long way since his boyish violence look from ‘Fight Club’ and as a suffering demi-god in ‘Troy’, he remains quite the victor in the wardrobe.
William Bradley Pitt was born on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was raised in Springfield, Missouri. After gaining widespread attention with his role in >Thelma & Louise in 1991, Pitt became one of Hollywood’s most wanted leading men, appearing in numerous hit films. Pitt won an Oscar in 2014 for the Best Motion Picture of the Year, 12 Years a Slave, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2010 for Inglourious Bastards and a Golden Globe in 1996 for his role in Twelve Monkeys.
Despite how he may look like in his movies, Pitt maintains a subtle casual aesthetic when he’s out and about. A strange fact about his style is an unhealthy obsession with fedoras, but as long as you can ignore that then his style is actually relatively easy to get down. Try a light T-shirt and chino combo for a nice summer look, or an overcoat with some jeans to stay warm during winter…
Brad Pitt style
Brad’s style is an awesome combination of modern and traditional classy looks/items. Sometimes rugged and bohemian, with his silky shirts and rock’ n roll jackets, sometimes edgy and modern – Japanophile style with his super relaxed cotton salwar pants in cream, under a roomy white tee and shacket (shirt jacket)… yeah everything but boring.
Hairstyle – The Long Hair!
Let’s just say that this dude had and still has the best haircuts ever! From his awesome long hair in “Interview with a vampire” to the classy undercut in Allied, he’s definitely the king if it!
Black is the new white
We all know that one can’t go wrong with black! Pitt knows that too! For Pitt this ”all black” look is more of a personal statement; I’m here, chill, comfortable and whatever. A black look is easy to pull off, perfect for a day out and you know it goes hand in hand with his rugged style that he’s known for.
In winter, the black comes layered with a hooded sports jacket playing the role of waistcoat under a black top coat. Leather Derbies in a charcoal hue bring back the sophistication and again Pitt’s chains and aviators bring out the zips in the sport-inspired layering.
Sport desert storm tones!
Here we have the highly monochrome, dune (think ashy grey) Pitt! We have seen Pitt adopting this tonal outfits (desert hue) so many times that we can say for sure that this is a big part of his street look signature. When traveling, we can see he prefers an ultra thin, cotton tee in slim fit tops lounge-inspired pants re-imagined with sporty accents such as cuffed ankles and a drawstring waist.
We have some minimal additions – the cool aviators and a neck chain offer a touch of army to the desert explorer color, before white trainers kick it back to the gym.
Other times, the sports jacket in jersey cotton blends in over the actor’s go-to sheer tee, but with sturdier trousers this time; more militant in heftier twill cotton and desert boots, all about that dystopian vibe.
What about his samurai Japones style! The samurai man bun is kinda his trademark so are his super relaxed cotton salwar pants in cream, under a roomy white tee and shacket (shirt jacket) giving back an awesome touch of Seventies safari coat.
Summer time suit
Brad may be described as a chill dude, always looking for something comfortable and cool at the same time so, it’s not that difficult to imagine him in a white summer suit. For Pitt, the casual suit is a must as it should be for all of us – the perfect look for a day out, at a fancy party or traveling.
Suit: here we have Paul Smith or Richard James – formal types but also Yohji Yamamoto.
Shoes: the boots from Belstaff, Oxfords from Berluti, and the cool sneakers from Common Projects.
Accessories: here we have the neck chain from Paul Roman and sometimes from Alexander McQueen. His hats most of the times are from Horisaki Design & Handel or Canali. The awesome cane comes care of London’s James Smith & Sons.
Slick but never fussy, casual but never sloppy, Hollywood’s bad boy and Oscar-winning producer Brad Pitt is always on the best-dressed lists. While rushing through the airport, schmoozing at award shows or bringing attention to his favorite philanthropic causes, Pitt’s fashion game is practically flawless.
