We live in a crazy world where nothing is what it seems. Our values and happiness depend on the exterior world, forgetting all about what matters the most: our interior universe. We seek fulfillment from outside sources, always searching for the next moment to make us happy, without acknowledging the fact that happiness is already there, inside of each one of us just waiting to be discovered.
Every so often a truly groundbreaking idea comes along. This is one of those – Mindset!
Mindset- what is it ?
A mindset, according to Dweck, is a self-perception or “self-theory” that people hold about themselves. Believing that you are either “intelligent” or “unintelligent” is a simple example of a mindset. People may also have a mindset related to their personal or professional lives—“I’m a good teacher” or “I’m a bad parent,” for example. People can be aware or unaware of their mindsets, according to Dweck, but they can have profound effect on learning achievement, skill acquisition, personal relationships, professional success, and many other dimensions of life.
A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person’s responses and interpretations of situations. (The Free Dictionary)
A person’s way of thinking and their opinions. (Cambridge Dictionary).
An attitude, disposition, or mood. (Dictionary.com).
The ideas and attitudes with which a person approaches a situation, especially when these are seen as being difficult to alter. (World English Dictionary.)
The established set of attitudes held by someone. (Oxford Dictionary).
Growth Mindset vs. Fixed-Mindset
“In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment,” writes Dweck. Students who embrace growth mindsets have the belief that they can learn more or become more, if they work hard, persevere and have a healthy way of coping with the world. A good mindset is a good life.In the end it’s all about your beliefs. You know that Your life is what you believe it to be, and Your beliefs shape your attitude. Your attitude also shapes your beliefs – You beliefs shape your mindset. Your mindset defines your life.
Final WordYou don’t become what you want, you become what you believe. Remember you are more than your inner sad and negative voice. Observe your own voice that one that sabotages you, and decide to be more than that, taking action and silence your mental noise.
Love u guys! We are in this together ! 🙂
